Meet Greg The Golf Guy

Greg “The Golf Guy” Jones is the epitome of the modern day golf professional. He is a teaching professional, club fitting specialist, and outstanding communicator with over 25 years experience in the field. He currently serves as the Director of The Greg Jones Golf Academy in Medina, Ohio. Prior to opening his golf academy, he co-owned and operated Vic’s Golf & Teaching Center in Mansfield, Ohio, one of Ohio's largest golf teaching facilities in the country, where he taught over two thousand lessons annually. Greg works with all skill levels from low and mid handicap amateurs, collegiate and potential professional players to beginners and juniors.

His enthusiasm for teaching is unparalleled, as is his commitment to each of his students in helping them achieve their goals. Greg works with golfers to understand their strengths and weaknesses, establish their performance objectives and golas, and then develop a plan to set them on the path to success through personalized lessons and practice drills.

Greg has been molded under the brief tutelage of several top PGA professionals including famed instructors: Chuck Hogan (Raven Facility), Jim McLean (Doral), Phil Blackmar, Jim Flick, Dave Pelz, and Dick Harmon (River Oaks), to name a few.

The methodolgy that Greg uses is "Keep it Simple". While always believing in traditional instructional information, such as strong basic fundamentals and proper swing techniques, Greg has taken the understanding of the swing, the motion, the hit and the impact to a new level. Greg has devoted his career to developing and refining teaching methods, terminologies and instructional techniques to help you, the student, understand the swing and the individual golf shots and to reach your desired scoring goals.

Over the course of his career, Greg:

taught golf for the Ohio State University for a number of years till 2008.
owned and built, from the ground up, his first teaching center and range in 1985-1992
co-owned and built, from the ground up, a 43 acre teaching complex - 1992-2008
awarded number one sales in the USA by Taylor Made and Wilson Golf in 1999 and 2004.
was the first account in the world to receive the the Callaway fitting center.
finished 25th in the Taylor Made Open in Puerto Vallarta Mexico with 4 under for 4 days.
has had three different TV shows.
was the host of two different radio talk shows.
has had numerous course records.
passed his PGA players ability test.
enrolled in the PGA program in 1995.
consulted with and taught major PGA professionals.
